Ethiopia and China agree to forge ahead alliance in Covid-19 times
The governments of Ethiopia and China have agreed on Monday to forge ahead alliance regarding actions to stop the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in both countries, Ethiopia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
The Foreign Ministry disclosed the information at the end of the talks held this Monday by Ethiopia's Foreign Minister Gedu Andargachew, and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.
During the conversation, the official press release states, Andargachew expressed his gratitude to China's private and government companies for donating medical supplies to African countries, allocated for the continental fight against the disease.
Ethiopia's minister also welcomed the successful efforts by China's people and government to reduce the novel coronavirus, and expressed optimism that China will consider Ethiopia's debt relief request.
Meanwhile, Yi reiterated Chinese authorities' affection and gratitude to the State located in the known African Horn, for supporting the country from the very beginning of the health crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
China's FM also expressed his nation's commitment to aid all countries in Africa mitigate the economic impact of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.
