History of aviation in Ethiopia goes back to 1929 when French made airplane, Potez 25 flown by a French pilot Andre Milet landed in the western side of Addis Ababa enrooted from Djibouti. This was 26 years after the first attempted flight by the Wright brothers and two years after the famous flight across the Atlantic by Captain Lind burg. African leaders rally around WHO boss over US attack

African leaders have rallied around the Ethiopian head of the World Health Organisation (WHO) after US President Donald Trump criticised the United Nations agency and threatened to withhold his country's contribution to its budget. Trump had on Tuesday accused the WHO of being too focused on China and of issuing bad advice on the Covid-19 pandemic. South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, who chairs the African Union (AU), said in a statement late on Wednesday that WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus had shown "exceptional leadership ... from the very earliest stages of this unprecedented global health crisis”.  "The AU calls upon the international community to join hands to support the efforts of the DG and the entire WHO family as they lead global efforts to fight this pandemic," Ramaphosa added. Ethiopia: Amhara State Preparing 10-Year Investment Plan

 Amhara State Investment Bureau is preparing a ten-year investment plan in a bid to create more jobs and facilitate technology transfer in agro-processing, agriculture, and infrastructures as well as power supply, according to the State's Investment Bureau. Speaking to The Ethiopian Herald the Bureau's Promotion and Communication Director Yihenew Alem, the investment flow to the state is growing year by year as the State is endowed with rich resources and heritages that could give any investor high return.
